The story of Domaine pétouin et enragé is quite simply the story of three buddies who wanted to become winemakers when they grew up. Well, they did! Having taken different paths, they have come together today to form a kind of troupe whose offspring is none other than this estate with its promising first vintages. Pierre le nen, former wine merchant and brewer at la dilettante near Vannes, xavier billet former intern at kenjiro kagami before working at marc pesnot. And romain arnould, a former wine merchant who has also turned his hand to winemaking in nantes. But where does this domain name come from? Was it inspired by a local alternative rock band? No, not at all. Petouin is one of the names given to the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety, and Enragé is the name given to the Folle Blanche grape variety, both of which are grown on the estate. This small estate houses 2.5 hectares of 60-year-old vines near the town of le landreau in the loire. It's all done by hand, with zero chemicals in the vines, zero inputs in the cellar and no added sulfites. Only a pinch of good humor is tolerated at bottling. Good work, good vines, good work!
