One of the pioneers of "natural" wines in France, the domaine has been organic since 1970. With the help of his wife Chantal and son Thomas, Jean Pierre Frick vinifies a large proportion of his cuvées without sulfur. His practice of maceration is the house signature. This style is particularly suited to the Grand Cru Vorbourg, a soil dominated by marl, limestone and sandstone. Since 2002, all wines have been bottled in stainless steel capsules. The physalis cuvée from domaine pierre frick is made from pinot noir vines from a blend of pfaffenheim terroirs. The wine undergoes whole-cluster maceration to bring out its deliciousness and spontaneity, while retaining its freshness. Vinification is completely natural, with no added sulfur throughout. Aged for 6 months in oak barrels on fine lees, this wine is highly complex. The nose reveals delicious notes of cherry, redcurrant and wild raspberry, with a hint of nutmeg. The palate is supple and crisp, thanks to a fluid body and very fine tannins. Notes of morello cherry, spicy touches and, above all, an intense, full-bodied flavour.
