In a few words ...

Located 20 kms from Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne, the Clos Renon terroir has been cultivated for centuries. Its origins go back to a Franciscan monk who, with his cloistered brothers, worked on this vineyard, tending and improving it. The proximity of the river made it possible to load the barrels onto the "gabarres", the flat boats typical of the Garonne. The wine was then shipped from Bordeaux to England. Planted on the renon peninsula, the 19-hectare estate benefits from a rich terroir composed of alluvium and clay-limestone sediments, ideal for the development of a vigorous wine. It is also protected by the Garonne River.

Tasting notes

Aroma

expressive, fruity and elegant nose. Dark berries and Morello cherry mingle with peony, toasted almonds and mocha.

Taste

Round and fruity on the palate, balanced by liquorice freshness.
