The winemaker

In the eleventh century, the country of Virtues was the domain of the Counts of Champagne. Thibault I founded two men abbeys, Saint-Martin and Saint-Sauveur.             The Saint-Sauveur Abbey was owned by the monks who devoted themselves to prayer and work, including that of the vine following the rule of St Benedict "Ora et labora".             At the Revolution the monks were expelled from the Abbey and in 1793 it was sold as national property. The church was destroyed, only the abbey escaped destruction.             A well tormented history ..... included in that of France.             It was in 1886 that our great-grandfather Thomas Charles, said Edmond buys Holy Savior at some Prin Origny.             Faced with the phylloxera crisis between 1889 and 1890, it will replenish the vineyards destroyed by initiating viticulture "modern" with grafted plants, stakes and son iron.             We inherited this past cellar, closed 1.5 hectare park (Monks' cemetery for 800 years) and part of the farm buildings remained as the monks had left the French Revolution.             Now the footsteps of monks and of our ancestors, we operate the vineyards, a demanding and meticulous work, that our Champagne is for you a dream product and celebration. A place rich in history that we will gladly show you around.
