In a few words ...
The story begins in 1818, when two husbands, nicolas-françois billecart and elisabeth salmon, decided to found their own champagne house. Since then, the billecart family has remained loyal to mareuil-sur-aÿ, consecrating the seventh generation of descendants at the head of this proudly independent house. The company farms some 30 hectares, buying grapes mainly from terroirs classified as Grand Cru or Premier Cru. This commitment to quality has been rewarded by the famous decanter guide, which named the brut réserve billecart-salmon "the best brut in the world".
