Wine cooperative founded in 1906 following the phylloxera crisis, Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois was created under the leadership of 26 Arboisians winemakers. The project was initiated in order to withstand competition from low-quality wines without origin. Thus, the Jura vineyards sees one of the first wine cooperative cellars of France take shape January 4, 1906 in Arbois. Determined to offer its customers the best wines of the Jura, the cooperative chose to pay its growers according to the quality of the grapes brought through a strict selection. This collective approach research excellence contributes to obtaining, May 15, 1936, the first French AOC for wines of Arbois. At the AOC Arbois follow the Côtes du Jura. In 1969, the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois acquires Bethany Castle in the heart of the Jura town of Arbois. The team of chai and successful winemaking facilities for winemaking of 5 Jura grape varieties: Poulsard Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Savagnin.
