Languedoc-Roussillon is located in the south of France, on the Mediterranean coast. The climate is dry and Mediterranean, with plenty of sunshine. Many winegrowers use this situation to their advantage, converting their vineyards to biodynamic viticulture. The sunshine produces aromatic, concentrated wines. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, as well as Grenache Blanc and Marsanne, are the main grape varieties grown on the partly terraced vineyards. This world-famous and extremely popular variety originates from the French Burgundy region. One of the reasons for its popularity is its remarkable capacity for transformation, resulting in a wide variety of wines depending on soil and conditions. Most of the time, Chardonnay is vinified as a single variety. This often results in very full-bodied wines, which are often aged for some time in wooden barrels. Chardonnay is one of three grape varieties used in Champagne. Chardonnay is characterized by aromas of dried apricot, white peach and grapefruit.
