The winemaker

Peaux Rouges is a very small estate in the heart of the Cher valley, producing on just under 2 hectares of organic land, between young vines planted in 2011 (pinot noir) and 40-year-old cultivated vines (gamay and côt). Our first vintage in 2017 was hit by a total freeze on April 27, as unfortunately happened to many in our sector. We were saved by the solidarity of our winegrower friends in the Ardèche, and went to pick Grenache, Merlot and a little Syrah, which we vinified at Monthou. We work on very small volumes, harvesting by hand and using indigenous yeasts, and we vinify without sulfites right up to bottling.
