The estate/house/cellar
former agricultural estate of the ursulines de beaucaire, it owes its name to the nuns called "mourgues" in Provencal. François and Anne Collard took over the estate in 1990. They produce wines that combine richness and minerality, while respecting the terroir and the environment. The word "capitelle" refers to a stone building carved from Beaucaire stone and found in the vineyards. This cuvée is made from Grenache Blanc, with a touch of Roussanne and Viognier. It is aged in barrel for 1 year.
the wineis straw-gold in color. Its nose reveals aromas of white flowers, dried fruits such as almonds and citrus. This aromatic palette is completed by white-fleshed fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine exudes structure, minerality and freshness. In the end, a lingering aroma invades the palate.
Ageing and food pairingthe "capitelle" cuvée can be enjoyed now, but can easily be kept for another 6 years. Decant before tasting, and serve at a temperature of 15°. It's the ideal companion for poultry in cream sauce, sea bream in butter sauce, and veal with chanterelle mushrooms.

The appellation Costières-de-Nîmes is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Château Mourgues du Grès and its 15 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
