In a few words ...
This wine is a complex blend of five Côtes du Rhône grape varieties: Grenache Noir, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault and Mourvèdre. The vines grow on deep, sandy loam soils that give the wine a lively character. The grapes are crushed, then cold-macerated for a few days. Fermentation is rapid, followed by a long hot skin maceration. The presses are finely sorted and the wine is left to rest in concrete tanks... 20% carignan, 20% cinsault, 20% grenache, 20% mourvèdre, 20% syrah. Sustainable viticulture, manual and mechanical harvesting, total destemming, pressing, malolactic fermentation, ageing in cement vats with epoxy resin, siliceous soils (sand, gravel...).

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Château de Gourdon and its 1 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
