The winemaker

Coming from a winegrowing family in Anjou, Thibaud Huvelin had no other desire than to inscribe his name in this lineage of winemakers. Since deciding to launch Domaine Huvelin in 2015, Thibaud has converted the land to organic farming (label cuvées from 2020), pampering his vines to bring out their finest grapes. Domaine Huvelin is a small estate on the right bank of the Rhône, not far from Uzès, Avignon and the Cévennes in the Gard region. Although the majority of the plots are claimed to be Côtes du Rhône Village, as of 2019, the wines are no longer claimed as such. In the vineyard, tractors are used sparingly to avoid compacting the soil, so working on foot is the watchword. The main stages of the process are respected, right up to hand-picking and sorting the grapes in the vineyard, to ensure that the best grapes make it into the vat. For Thibaud, 80% of the work is done in the vineyard. If the grapes are good, the wine will be exceptional!
