In the southwest of the Pyrenees-Orientales, in the foothills of Mont Canigou, in the heart of the Aspres, stands the mâs, built in the 18th century and family-run for seven generations. The vineyard, planted on clay and gravel slopes, extends over twenty hectares and produces Muscat de Rivesaltes, Rivesaltes and Côtes du Roussillon AOC wines. Out of respect for the environment and to enhance the natural character of the wines, the soil is enriched with organic matter. Disease and pest control is carried out in a reasoned manner. Frequent ploughing keeps the soil clean and aerated. Hand-picking and low yields (40 to 45 hl/ha), combined with a dry, windy climate, enable us to vinify healthy, sun-drenched grapes that concentrate the richness of the terroir. Vinification is traditional, and the wines are made, matured and bottled on the estate with the utmost care, in the pursuit of an exceptional wine, as much for its aromas as for the delicacy of its flavors. This wine is the fruit of passionate, rigorous and authentic work.

The appellation Rasteau Rancio is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine des Demoiselles and its 1 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
