In a few words ...
Château des peyraux is a small 5-hectare organic winegrowing estate in the Fronton appellation (southwest France). Using indigenous and historic grape varieties such as négrette, duras and prunelar, château des peyraux is reborn from oblivion with natural, gourmet cuvées, featuring wines without added sulfites. Great attention is paid to the soil, to natural rhythms, and manual care of the vines is constant and meticulous, right down to harvesting by hand. Vinification and ageing at the château. The estate comprises a mature vineyard leased to Villaudric and plantings carried out in 2017 and 2019 at Les Peyraux. Here, négrettes are accompanied by syrah and cabernet franc. Finally, because Marie Emmanuelle has a soft spot for them (...), other familiar and historic grape varieties from the banks of the Tarn are also planted ( prunelart, duras...). Situated on the second and third terraces of the Tarn, with a poor soil of boulbènes dotted with pebbles, the plots border the woods and are bordered by wide forest hedges. The larger plots are planted with small fruit trees (almonds, peaches) of different sizes.
