The winemaker

Rocca Delle Macie was created in 1973 when Italo Zingarelli, a film producer known for his comic duets with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, decided to make his dream come true by acquiring "Macie", an 85-hectare property of which only 2 were already dedicated to vine-growing. He passed on his love and passion for the Tuscan soil to his three children, Sergio, Fabio and Sandra. In 1985, Sergio, the youngest son, became head of distribution, and in 1989, Chairman of the company with his wife Daniela. Sergio and his sister are committed to developing and consolidating the quality work of their father. Today, the estate is world-renowned, thanks in no small part to the numerous awards won by its wines. Fabio, the eldest brother, continues the project as an architect, tackling the restoration of the Fizzano village and the construction of the new winery. Today, the family empire owns more than 600 hectares, around 200 of which are devoted to vineyards and 80 to olives, spread over 6 main estates: Le Macie, Sant'Alfonso, Fizzano and Tavolelle in the Chianti Classico region, to which Campomaccione and Casamaria in the Morrelino di Scansano area have recently been added. The Chianti Classico cuvée was born at the winery and has grown with it over the years, becoming the estate's ambassador around the world.
