In a few words ...
domaine larmandier père & fils was founded by jules larmandier in cramant at the beginning of the 20th century. At the time, his bottles were found on the tables of Parisian restaurants. It wasn't until 1970 that philippe larmandier founded the larmandier-bernier brand with his wife elisabeth bernier. He took over part of the larmandier père & fils estate, as well as the vineyard in vertus from his wife elisabeth bernier. After studying business, their son pierre took over the running of the estate in 1988. After meeting some of the great winegrowers of Burgundy and Alsace, pierre decided to completely rethink his farming methods, preferring ploughing to weeding. He switched to organic viticulture, followed by biodynamic viticulture in 1999. Since then, the winemaker has continued to develop his estate by buying up new land. According to pierre larmandier: "the recipe for good grapes is simple but demanding: old vines, working the soil, measured yields; a vine that takes care of itself without fertilizer drip and a hand-picked, ripe harvest".
