In a few words ...

Extending southwards from Rully, the Mercurey vineyards are planted on marl-limestone soils derived from geological formations of the Upper and Middle Jurassic, with the latter predominating. The Pinot noir grape variety thrives here, producing red wines on stony soils derived from layers of hard limestone, which are highly prized for their complexity and ability to age harmoniously.

Excellent Mercurey from a house that has nothing left to prove when it comes to the quality of its wines. Tasted with a plancha-grilled tenderloin, it was a perfect match. Having said that, I'm going to leave the other bottles laid down for a few years, as they'll be all the better for it.

A good Mercurey. Cherry aromas and an impression of Kirsch on the finish. That's my first opinion. However, I left it to air for a few hours (from around 3pm to 7pm), and the wine was totally transformed, acquiring a pleasant finesse. Fruit, minerality and a very pleasant freshness for good drinkability!

we find in this Mercurey all the finesse typical of a good Burgundy. Long on the palate, but a slightly closed nose... An elegant, complex wine. Naturally, this wine will benefit from a few years' rest in the cellar. I let its little sisters sleep...

I nice example of Mercurey. Personally I like this 'lighter' Burgundy appellation. I'll leave it in the cave for a couple of more years. But I expect it to elevate into a soft 'framboise' wine, great with things like pheasant.

A wine with a purplish color and a very red-fruited nose. Pity the aromas are a little closed, would have deserved to age 2 or 3 years more. Good potential in any case.

First of all, the value for money on your site was unbeatable. I know this region well, and a Mercurey for less than €13 is just perfect. It deserves between one and two more years of cellaring, even if you can already appreciate it with meat that's a little powerful.
