In a few words ...

Mercurey Premier Cru Champs Martin is fresh, fine and fragrant! Mercurey takes its name from an ancient temple built by the Romans in honor of Mercury. With its 650 ha, 85 "village" climats and 32 premier crus, the Mercurey appellation is the largest of the Côte Chalonnaise appellations. The latest addition to the Albert Bichot estates, Domaine Adélie covers 4.5 ha in 2 flagship appellations: Mercurey and Mercurey 1er Cru. The slopes are south-facing, fairly steep, with brown limestone and clay soil on marl and marl-limestone at the top of the Middle Oxfordian.

Complex aromas of blackcurrant and blueberry on a slightly peppery background. Powerful tannins on the palate. A great wine with good value for money.

This Albert Bichot premier cru is a wonderful discovery. On the palate, it's full of red raspberry and redcurrant fruit. The acidity is well perceived, and I'd be happy to keep it. Is it recommended? A technical sheet would be welcome.

Quite good. Tastes of the terroir. But a tad light in fruit. Perhaps it would benefit from a few years' cellaring.
