The winemaker

The Quinta da Romaneira estate is one of the largest in the Douro Valley. It borders the Douro River. Its history dates back to the 19th century, when it was already critically acclaimed. In 2004, it was bought by a group of wine enthusiasts, including Christian Seely, who heads the Axa Millésimes group of estates. Together with Antonio Agrellos, voted Portugal's best sommelier, they ensure the smooth running and quality of the wines. On 85 hectares of vines, they cultivate the valley's finest red grape varieties: touriga franca, tinta roriz, tinto cao and touriga nacional. The Quinta da Romaneira estate produces dry wines with strong character that capture the character of the Douro's great reds, between power and elegance.
