In a few words ...
VINEYARDS: Grenache in gobelet. Reasoned vine management depending on the vintage. PRODUCTION : 5500 bottles/ha VINIFICATION METHOD: Grapes destemmed, partially crushed. Temperature-controlled fermentation, punching down, gentle extraction. AGEING : On lees in full tanks with stirring, malolactic on lees. Racking after malolactic, retaining fine lees. Aged on lees without SO2. NOTE: Sans pareil is one of the names for Grenache. This wine comes from young Grenache vines planted on clay-limestone soil in the Causses et Veyran commune, and is a very "juicy" expression where fruit and greed dominate. Tomorrow (in about 40 years!) it will surely join "Comme à Cayenne" and its great minerality. MISCELLANEOUS: The cuvée is called "sans pareil" because it's one of the names of the Grenache grape. Grenache is also known as : alicante, alicante de Pays, alicante Grenache, alicantina, aragonais, aragonés, bois jaune, cannonaddu, cannonau, cannonao, cannono, carignane Rousse, gironet, granacha, granacha del País, granacha Negra, granacha Tinta, granacho, granaxa, granaxo, grenache Rouge, guarnaccia in Italy, lladoner, mencida, navarra, navarre de la Dordogne, ranconnat, redondal, retagliadu Nieddu, rivesaltes, rivos-Altos, roussillon, roussillon Tinto, rouvaillard, Sans Pareil, Santa Maria de Alcantara, Tinta, Tinta Menuda, Tinto, Tinto de Navalcarnero, Tintore di Spagna and Tocai Rosso.
