The winemaker

Neighbor Kanonkop, the field is located in the region Simonsberg in Stellenbosch. Founded in the early nineteenth century, long known as the "Good Success" has been divided into three properties in the early 1990s Friedrich Laibach, a German entrepreneur realizes a dream thirty years, acquiring a domain and produce its own wines. Substantive work was undertaken immediately: complete replanting of the vineyard and build a new winery. Petra Laibach-Kuehner, his daughter, is now the proud owner of this domain managed by a young and dynamic team. The potential of the vineyard was quickly highlighted and Laibach is part of that generation of young promising areas with wines both seductive and very elegant. The estate has a vineyard forty hectares on the northeastern slopes of the mountains Simonberg. Nine different varieties are planted but the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinotage occupy most of the surfaces. Converted to the principles of organic farming, the area is extremely meticulous about the quality of the grapes harvested and claims an oriented approach with individual expression of terroir winemaking piecemeal for part of the range. The farms are on tap for red with a small proportion of new wood. The wines have a nice fruity dimension with relatively flexible structures and fine, ripe tannins, which make them immediately pleasing wines. If we produced a few white to Laibach, the "business heart" remains red wines, intense and seductive.
