The winemaker
La Hacienda is an enclave in the province of Burgos administratively belonging to Castilla-Leon, but it is geographically located in La Rioja Alta, qdo. Rioja. Is located at an average altitude of 650m at the foot of mountains and Obarenses between localities Sajazarra Rioja Anguciana, Galbárruli and Villalba. Its origins date back to 1077, protected the monastery Herrera. It has 60 hectares of vineyards, located in a privileged microclimate, protected by the peaks of the Montes Obarenes, with cold, dry winters and hot summers, when the Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Viura are grown. Its limited production and craft made its wines, closely related to the "terroir", reached the best prizes and awards.
