In a few words ...
the 1998 vintage is very good. The dry, warm climate enabled the grapes to ripen beautifully, with thick skins that saved them from the September rains. The great wines are complex, elegant and fine. The st emilion and pomerols produced velvety, powerful wines, while the margaux and graves are more about fruit and finesse.
