A child of the chardonnay grand cru, Delamotte Blanc de Blancs is totally pure, vinified in stainless steel vats. Blanc de Blancs is a mineral champagne whose chalky feel is maintained by a light blend of reserve wine (10% maximum). This note is the very essence of our vineyard and its Chardonnays, which grow on pure chalk soil. Yes, the wines can be austere in their youth, which is why aging on lees - well beyond the legal 15 months - extends over four to five years before disgorgement. Post-disgorgement aging further enhances the finesse and elegance of this cuvée.
