Château martet - la fierté de mon père 2016the château martet is located à sainte-foy-la-grande, à 25km from saint-emilion à bordeaux. It has belonged to patrick de coninck, a wine merchant from brussels, since 1991. In 1993, he embarked on a major vineyard restructuring program, which was completed in 2006: removal of vines poorly adapted to the soil, removal of large vines with too low a planting density, complete overhaul of the vat room, enlargement of the cellars and barrel cellars; the 25-hectare vineyard is all in one piece, on the plateau and hillsides overlooking the Dordogne, and is managed according to the principles of sustainable agriculture. The flagship grape is Merlot, which accounts for 20 hectares of the vineyard.in 2015, thanks to an exceptional vintage and unfortunately due to patrick's death, his children and wife decided to dedicate him a special cuvée: la fierté de mon père. It is made from Merlot and aged for 18 months in new radoux oak barrels. La fierté is not a micro vat, but rather an extrapolation of what will become of the family's reserve over time.cépage : 100% merlot
