This 100% Sémillon wine comes from from a 1/2-hectare plot, selected for its limestone deep gravelly limestone terroir. It is called Pont d'Aulan after the locality of the same name the parcels from which this cuvée is made. The Pont d'Aulan was the historic bridge over the Ciron, the region's emblematic river and gateway to the Sauternes region Noble rot, botrytis cinerea. This This microscopic fungus attacks the grapes morning mists carried by the Ciron. The skins shrivel, and sugars concentrate until the grapes grapes dry out. The result is an extremely concentrated and rich raw material, with complex and varied aromas
