45-year-old 100% Syrah vines in the commune of Ampuis, 1 block from the Côte-Rôtie appellation, grown on schist soils and "échalas". Maceration for 2 weeks in vats to stay "on the fruit", then 6 months ageing in old oak barrels to bring out some spicy notes, and let it evolve serenely before bottling.
Just 200 m from the Côte-Rôtie appellation, this wine from France has nothing to be ashamed of in comparison with its famous neighbor. Drink it young and enjoy it with friends on the grill!

a lovely, slightly concentrated Syrah, almost caramel in the second taste, but what I really like is the first taste, which has all the hallmarks of a roast rib!
