The winemaker

Cantina di Soave was founded in 1898 and is now one of Italy's most prestigious wine producers. With 6,000 hectares of vineyards, the estate not only benefits from an impressive past, but today presents a dynamism that is expressed in a multitude of initiatives and new challenges. Piece by piece, Cantina di Soave has succeeded over time in assembling a mosaic of winemaking facilities and vineyards that now extends far beyond its home territory of Soave, the home of the famous Soave wine, to include the Garda region and the hills of Valpolicella, the Amarone estate. True to its tradition of constant growth and careful attention to the distinctive characteristics of each unique growing area, Cantina di Soave has over the years created a rich portfolio of vineyards dedicated largely to the growth of the region's indigenous grape varieties, in particular the garganega grape, which produces Soave, and corvina, molinara and rondinella, which give Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone. The winery's objectives are to further develop the quality potential of these varieties and contribute to their long tradition, to which Cantina di Soave feels strongly linked. As the latest pearl in its already precious strand, the winery has acquired the Montecchia di Crosara winery, whose standard-bearer, Durello, is produced from the indigenous Durella grape variety.
