In a few words ...

In Burgundy, at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, the 392 ha of the Santenay appellation are planted on the first slopes of Mont-de-Sène. A region of history and tradition, the area's first human settlements date back to prehistoric times, while the Château de Santenay, also known as Château Philipe le Hardi, still bears witness to the terroir's attachment to the Dukes of Burgundy. The etymological origins of the commune date back to Roman times, when it was famous for its thermal waters and its "Santinae aquae" spring, translated as "healing waters". The "Les Charmes" vineyard is located at the south-western end of the commune, near the hamlet of Santenay-le-Haut. The hillside faces south-south-east, partly on hard limestone from the Middle Jurassic and partly on clay and marl from the Lias (Lower Jurassic).

Absolutely delicious, the Bichot touch is perfectly recognizable, even if the complexity is less than that of more famous appellations (and also much more expensive).

A wine that honors its terroir! Straightforward and straightforward on the attack, it reveals itself to be greedy and generous! A wine that will benefit from tasting in a few years' time.
