Brothers Claude and Hervé Muzard are masters of their craft, and you can trust their red wines, whose style we've been praising for several vintages. If you like digestible, floral, gourmet cuvées, you've come to the right place. However, these cuvées, with a significant proportion of whole grapes, are not lacking in substance or potential. Santenay is the most southerly commune in the narrow fifty-kilometer strip that stretches from Dijon to Maranges. Between Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay, the veins of brown soil mixed with limestone are once again visible, giving priority to Pinot Noir. The estate's 16 hectares are divided into 10 ha of premier crus, 5 of villages and one of regional appellation. All soils are worked, under the row only, and grassed between the rows on the steep slopes, and over the entire surface on the foothills. The estate abandoned the use of herbicides in 2000, and the first treatments with products approved for organic farming date back to 2008. Although the estate was awarded the label in 2011, due to the heavy pressure of mildew in 2013, the muzard brothers decided to stop using organic products.
