Terroir and vineyards of Domaine Éric Louis

It's no accident that Domaine Éric Louis wines are so complex. Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon and Quincy are the four villages in which the vines are planted. Geologically, the terroir is two-thirds clay-limestone and one-third flint. For grapes, this diversity calls for different varietals. Sauvignon is particularly suited to clay-limestone soils, while Pinot Noir thrives on heavier soils.

The wines of Domaine Éric Louis

The Domaine Éric Louis wine list is as varied as the Centre Loire region itself. Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Châteaumeillant, Crémant de Loire, ... In addition to these classics, the estate also produces some lovely vins de France. In addition to these dry wines, Domaine Éric Louis also produces red and rosé wines.
