    In a few words ...

SELECTED RESERVE EXTRA BRUT - 100% Oak Barrel A wine marked by the black grape varieties of Champagne, representative of the traditional style of Maison Gardet and combining reserve wines aged in wood in the form of a Réserve Perpétuelle. A wine whose assertive, powerful character will delight lovers of complex champagnes. Maturation in two stages: Cuvée Selected Reserve is a high-quality blend that will evolve very slowly over time. These wines are first matured in foudres as a perpetual reserve, then in bottle. 1. Foudres: These are made of Allier oak. The blend is aged here for a minimum of 12 months, in the form of a perpetual reserve begun in the 90s, and undergoes very slow, controlled oxidation. 2. Bottling: Maturation then continues in bottle for 7 to 9 years before disgorging. The aromas then continue to evolve towards more ripe, toasty notes. Fermentation : . In stainless steel tanks: Alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation . In foudres: Aging for a minimum of 1 year - Ageing: In bottles on lees for 7 to 9 years + 3 months minimum after disgorgement before shipping - Extra Brut dosage: 4 g/L. . Storage after shipment: Ready for tasting, can be stored in cellar conditions for up to 5 years.

A recent discovery for this house, we've tried several ranges, this one is excellent, more complex than the brut réserve, you can clearly feel the barrel ageing, nice length.
