    In a few words ...

SELECTED RESERVE EXTRA BRUT - 100% Oak Barrel A wine marked by the black grape varieties of Champagne, representative of the traditional style of Maison Gardet and combining reserve wines aged in oak. A wine whose assertive, powerful character will delight lovers of atypical champagnes. Maturation in two stages: Cuvée Selected Reserve is a high-quality blend that will evolve very slowly over time. These wines are first matured in foudres, then in bottle. 1. Foudres: These are made of Vosges oak; their capacity varies between 25hl and 40hl, and some are 50 to 100 years old. The blend is aged in them for a minimum of 12 months, undergoing very slow, controlled oxidation. 2. Bottling: Maturation continues in bottle for 7 to 9 years before disgorging. The aromas then continue to evolve towards more ripe, toasty notes. Fermentation : . In stainless steel tanks: Alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation . In foudres :Aging of wines for a minimum of 1 year. - Ageing: In bottles on lees for 7 to 9 years + 3 months minimum after disgorgement before shipping. - Extra Brut dosage: 4 g/L. From a liqueur made from the same wine and beet sugar. Final cork (after disgorging): Classic cork. Aging after shipment: Ready to drink, can be cellared for up to 5 years.

    Tasting notes

    Bright, deep yellow-gold color.

Delicate nose. Straightforward at first glance, with notes of wheat, caramel, vanilla and ripe fruit.

    Wine Gourmand

Taste: pronounced aromas of fruit paste, candied fruit (orange), hint of spice (cinnamon, vanilla). Notes of viennoiserie; straight texture, underlying minerality.

A recent discovery for this house, we've tried several ranges, this one is excellent, more complex than the brut réserve, you can clearly feel the barrel ageing, nice length.
