Appellation Petit-Chablis

Discover the Petit Chablis appellation

The wines of the AOC Petit Chablis can be produced in all the communes of the Chablis vineyard. The appellation thus represents more than 1100 hectares, planted exclusively in chardonnay. The parcels of Petit Chablis are generally located at the top of the slopes or on the beginnings of the plateaus.

The vines are subject to a semi-continental climate, which is quite humid and exposes them to spring frost. The soils of Petit Chablis are mostly calcareous with occasional limestone and sand.

Petit Chablis wines, fresh and lively

Petit Chablis whites have a golden coat, clear and crossed with green reflections. The nose is marked by white flowers, notably acacia and hawthorn, citrus and a mineral side with flint and flint. Scents of peach and other white-fleshed fruits may reveal themselves on the nose. On the palate, the wine is lively, with a measured acidity, light and fat. It is a perfect balance of roundness and freshness, sublimated by an iodine note.

Petit Chablis forms very nice pairings with oysters and other shellfish, fish in tartar or carpaccio, or even grilled. Egg dishes such as omelettes, summer salads and snails are also sublimated by Petit Chablis. Finally, on the cheese side, this white wine reveals itself more on gruyères or goat cheeses.
